REFLECTION ON CAREER PLANNING


Career planning can be defined as a lifelong process, which includes choosing an occupation, getting a job, developing our job, possibly changing careers, and at last retiring. For section 10 students of English for Career Search class, we were given a task by our lecturer, Mr. Ghazali bin Hj Bunari to prepare our career planning and presented it. What we need to do for this task is we must tell what we want to be in future and also how we planning for our career development. For my career plan I choose to be a HR assistant for my first position, then promote to HR executive, HR manager, HR senior manager, and lastly for the long term is to become HR director. For my career plan presentation  I am feel I little bit nervous at beginning, but I think I have give my best effort in presenting about how I’m going to achieve my career.

Career Planning

After doing an activity of career planning, I have realized that we should start from now to achieve our dream career. Some philosophy said that if we want to success in our career, we should enjoy and happy with our job to stay in a company for a long time. I have thinking thoroughly what I want to be and I want to job in the safe, harmony and can give more fringe benefits to me. In this task, I will know what I can be achieving within next 5 years. So, to make it succeed, I should plan how to start from now and first thing I want to do is I will sharper my communication and computer skill. Besides that, I also will find someone to being my mentor to guide me for my future job and hope my career planned will be achieved.

Reflection for Career Plan

YUSNI BINTI YAHAYA   -AH 100150-

Based what i learn in class about career plan topic, i get more information and knowledge about to search the career after i graduate. This is important for my future career. Before i learn in the class about the career plan, i do not know how to manage and plan my career for future. After the lecture, En. Ghazali give assignment to do and present about my career plan in class and En. Ghazali comment my career plan, i get the information and knowledge how to success and follow my career plan.

To success in my career plan, i must have a stage to follow the career. I also should have planning in get and achieve my long term planning. Other than that, the stage must related the other stage to get more experience and opportunity to achieve the highers job in my career plan. Lastly, what i have learn in English for Career Plan class i can apply in my future job.

Assalamualaikum and very good afternoon everyone :)

Firstly i want to shared my experiences in career planning activity. Based on what i have learn in this class, i am sure that all of you will think that planning a career path is very important for us especially when we want to find a good job in the future.So this is a preparation for the real job in my future.

From this career planning, i also got a lot of information in the field of Human Resource since i am taking for this course. There are a lot of things that i should bear in mind to remind me about the important of career that i will choose in the future.

From the presentation, before this, i am not confident to present alone in front of the others but now i am better in my presentation and i really hope that i will be good presenter in the future.I really hope the information that i got from this subtopic will guide me in the future.

And lastly, i want to say that 'the best way to predict your future is to create it' so..lets create for a great life for our future.

3.     Do your company have any vision and mission?

Our company do not have vision and mission yet because our company is a small organization and still in developing process. But our company have objectives such as:


·         Be representative of the Amanah Raya Berhad to market the product throughout Malaysia.
·         Become Corporate Amil Zakat in Johor and other states in Malaysia.
·         Produce as many Mutawwif  with more practical and more competitive in the market.

 

4.     When your company starts operation?


Capaian Aspirasi Sdn Bhd (CASB) is a subsidiary of Johor Corporation Group. Beginning in February 2006, 10% of the company was owned by Ustaz Ismail Bin Mat Ali under Intrapreneuring Scheme Johor Corporation.In October 2007, the Johor Corporation had endowment 75% stake in CASB to Waqaf An-Nur Corporation Berhad. CASB through Ustaz Ismail Bin Mat Ali as Amil Zakat Corporate for Johor State Islamic Religious Council starting from 1 September 2005. In 2009, the CASB also manage zakat for outsiders from Johor state. Among the companies that pay zakat through CASB is the company of the Johor Corporation such as Felda Oil Products Sdn Bhd, Al-Zahabi Travel Sdn Bhd and Etiqa Takaful Berhad. CASB also welcome outsiders companies that want to pay zakat through them. On July 17, 2007, CASB has been appointed as sub agents to work together to market the product will of Amanah Raya Berhad. The result of this collaboration, 3915 will was registered until the end of 2012 and CASB has winning the Gold Award for its success.Starting November 2009, CASB has managing the Mutawwif Academy Sdn Bhd and organizing Mutawwif Accreditation courses and lectures for mutawwif participants who are registered. Now, a total of 500 mutawwif participants have registered under Mutawwif Academy Sdn. Bhd.

I took Information Technology course in Universiti Utara Malaysia, Kedah from year 2007 to 2010.


d)    What is your working experience before you come to this company?
Basically, i did my practical at IPPJ Komtar, Johor Bahru. So, After graduate, i given an opportunity to work at IPPJ Komtar as a in Executive. So, that is my first working experiences.


e)    In your opinion, what are the skills are neccessary for executive?
I think communication skill is most important. Since i’m the main mediator between boss and other employees, i must communicate effectively, so that misunderstanding about information or task will not happen.


f)      What is your starting  and current salary?
I have been work here only for 6 months. So my starting salary is RM 2100. But now, my current salary is RM 2780.



g)     Does the company you work big?
No, it is just a small company and it is still in developing process.


h)   What kind of fringe benefits you get in this company? 
We do get medical care, allowance, life Insurance ,travel allowance and overtime pay.


i)        What is the working environment in this company?         
The working environment in this company is quite good. We always have a good relationship with co-workers and boss. Although sometimes we feel stress about our job but our job satisfaction is always constant.


j)        What is the specific medical plan is provided to the employees?         
Basically, our company’s medical plan  under Johor Corporation. We can claimed to them when we are hospitalized  In fact, when we go to any others clinic, it also accepted.


k)      What kind of corporate culture  your company have?
We use the democracy culture in this company. Most of times, we will share  information with other co-workers as well as it is not confidential. If there are any dissatisfaction among co-workers, they can lead the problems or ideas to the top management through executive which will be brought to the board of directors at board meetings.



l)        How frequency you are travelling to outside in this company?             
Less than previous workplace.

Never


n)      What is your job responsibility?       
My job responsibility are:       
·         Supervise workers under the supervision,
·         Supervise the business and administration of company,
·         Public relation with top management and outsiders,

o)      What is your advice for undergraduate?
           
When do a practical, try to avoid do the practical  in the government sector because there are nothing much you can learn from them. Therefore, try to do practical in a company  that you can applied for job in future. So that, after complete the practical, there is  a job will waits for you.
