Reflection: Section UHB3012 Blog

A blog is basically a type of website, like a social bookmarking site or also as forum. As such it is defined by the technical aspects and features around it, and not by the content published inside it. The features that make blogs different from other websites are the content is published in a chronological fashion, updated regularly, all the readers have the possibility to leave comments and also other blog authors can interact via trackbacks. So that’s our medium in Career Search class is by creating the blog, for me it simple ways to us for sharing our information among us. Besides that it is easy to our lecturer for checking our progress in every reflection that has been post among us. Because of this blog, I started to make my own blog. Before this, I do not care about writing blog. Now, for me blog is like my diary. Thanks 

Reflection: Presentation of Digital Portfolio

After I done my slide presentation, I need to present it in front my lecturer, the marks are given 10 marks for this presentation. I get some trouble while present my slide, because my hyperlink to other slides are not working as usually I do. Although I have try my best to present until finish, I quite nervous to present because I need to finish my presentation before 5 minutes. What I should do to avoid from exceed the time, I try to present only the important thing, I highlight at my education content only. Finally I finish my presentation before 5 minutes, but it not enough to me to cover all the slides. I enjoy in this week, because I can see other friends are very creative in their own presentation. Some students are using other software in order to attract my lecturer, beside to get high marks. I am very happy in this presentation.

Reflection: Digital Portfolio

Create my own portfolio is one of my favourite it is because I need to create a creative presentation, by refer to the last presentation. I have done my own presentation by using power point. I used 2010 Microsoft PowerPoint to complete my presentation; there are many animations in this software. I insert many colourful backgrounds to make my slide become more different from others. Beside that I need to insert my detail information such profile, education background, working experience and also my personality. I have 19 slides for my presentation.

Reflection: Interview

Like exams, interviews require a great deal of preparation. In order to do well, we must assess our current knowledge about the position, study the employer, and anticipate difficult questions. In a competitive job market it’s especially important to follow these steps to interview success: Feeling nervous about interviews is normal. In fact, being a little nervous can be helpful, motivating candidate to prepare and do best. But worrying about being nervous usually just makes us more nervous! Focus energy on being more self-confident instead. For my interview session our lecturer had decided to do among us. Others group will become as interviewer and also be as candidates for this session, meanwhile our lecturer become as evaluator. During the session begin until the end, I feel very nervous because my confident level is very low. Every question that has given to me I cannot answer properly. However, I very appreciate this interview because it taught me to become more discipline.

Reflection: Job Application letters

Job applicant also known as cover letter, for weeks 11 I have learn about how to write a job application letters.  According to the advertisement that my group have choose, I need to apply that position. My entire members group applied the same position but different job application letter. Here there are few of general tips that I should remember which my application letters should keep it brief. We don’t need to give a lot of detail about us. Make it clear and concise explanation suitability for that job. Then begin our letter ‘Dear sir’. Try to avoid inappropriate language such as slang or technical jargon and use brief, informative sentences and short paragraphs. And the last is we must check our spelling, grammar, and punctuation carefully. Some employers routinely discard job applications that contain such mistakes.

Reflection: Curriculum Vitae

For week 10 I need to submit my own resume, while completing my resume I have learnt so many things in finished this resume. It is because there are many lots of tips in order to create a creative resume. For me curriculum Vitae including all many things about someone, and there are many pages will be used. But, our lecturers have advised us to do only two pages. His told that there are many applicants will apply in one position, and this is impossible to that company for read thoroughly about us. Make it simple but full of information about us. In order to attract any computer to choose our resume from the pool of applicant, we can create a different form of resume such by giving them a creative card or any creative way. Meanwhile for passport picture we should put the exactly size of passport, avoiding from put the simple picture.
