Reflection: Digital Portfolio (Oral Presentation)

The oral presentation of digital portfolio is the final task for the subject of English Career Search. I prepared myself with the things that I needed to present with relevant points. Before the presentation, Sir Ghazali gives some advice about presenting the portfolio which was very useful. Furthermore, I also discuss with my senior and other classmates about how to present a good portfolio. 

I deliver my presentation of portfolio which consist my profile, educational background, my personality and my achievements. I’m also reflecting on every activity where I explain how the activity enhance my skills, change my behavior and improve my personality. This presentation improves my confident in expressing my achievement and also improves my English speaking skill.

Reflection: Digital Portfolio

To create the digital portfolio, I prepare myself with discussion with my lecturer and my friends. Then, I decide the method to deliver my presentation. Firstly, I decide to do it by creating a blog to include my portfolio.  But then, I discover the Prezi flash software which I find interesting and interactive. So, I ask my friends who familiar with the software to teach me. The software is very easy and quite enjoyable to create. With the guideline from my friends, I learn how to design a good flash video. After that, I create my own flash comprising my portfolio using this Prezi software.

 The digital portfolio displays my achievement in academic and extra-curricular activities with evidence. I include the certificate that I obtained as an evidence for my involvement in every activity. This task encourages me to be creative and also improve my technical skill in using multimedia.

Reflection: Blog

The blog is been a useful and easy tools for me to post information and reflections of topics in English Career Search subject. Sharing information in blog is advance and quick way which is easy because of its user friendly features. The blog also include information about career that prepared by other members such as career exploration. This information is very informative for me where I can share my information of career exploration that I done in UTM Space with other members who explore other organization.

The sharing of knowledge in this blog improves my understanding on the topics. This blog also enhance my confidence in sharing my knowledge through online source. Thus, it also increases my written skill and the reflection make me recall the things that I have learned.

Reflection: Curriculum Vitae

Creating the curriculum vitae is been informative for me. After explanation by Sir Ghazali and search from online resources, I had a good understanding in how to create a proper CV. The important things that need to be included in CV are personal information, educational background, skill, activity involved and references. 

Furthermore, Sir Ghazali shows us some of creative resume which is very informative and interesting. With the information I gathered, I prepared and create my own CV which include all necessary information about me and relevant to my job. This task taught me how writes a systematic and neat CV which is unique and different from CV of other candidates. Now that I able to create a good resume, I prepared a well design CV for my future job in HR field.

Reflection: Career Exploration

I and my group members have opportunity to interview a HR manager of UTM Space, Mrs. Norshidah Binti Abdul Rashid. This task is been very informative for me to know about my future career prospect in HR field. Mrs. Norshidah provides us information about SPACE and about their organizational structure.

                I got various information related HR such as skill needed, benefits provided, the responsibility and more. Some of the important thing I obtain is about the career development in HR field. I also understand in how to climb the career development in term of experiences and qualification. Other than that, Mrs. Norshidah explain about training we as future HR officer must undergo such as are basic HR courses and leadership training. Furthermore, Mrs. Norshidah provides some advice for us as students who pursuing the same career path.

Reflection: Job Application Letter

Writing and preparing job application letter is been an important task for me as it is crucial for me as future job seeker. This task taught me in how to write a good application letter with correct and systematic format. During my first draft, I did few errors in terms of format but I able to correct it with guidelines from sir Ghazali and my classmates. I understand and tips in creating an application letter such where to date and signature.

I had search many application letter from online as a references and I find various type of letter. I’d go through various letters and create my own letter which is appropriate with my job position. The task improves my written skill and also how to systematically include my academic and extra-curriculum achievements.

Reflection: Interview

The interview is a great opportunity for me to prepare myself for my future real job interview. This interview is providing me experience and taught me about dos and don’ts during interview session. Besides, the interview increases my confident level in facing and answering the panel’s questions. Furthermore, I able to answering questions by relating to my job advertisement and potential Company which are Club 21, an international fashion and lifestyle retailer.

During first interview session, I feel nervous about the situation and question that will be ask. But I feel very easy and less pressure because the interviewers are my classmates. This was a very good opportunity for me to answer their answer with relevant points. During the second interview, I prepared myself and feel more confident. Some of questions ask is quite challenging but it test my creativity and I managed to answer it.
